The main goal is to promote the love for reading that will help a child grow up to be successful and a life long learner.

READING PROMOTES INTELLECTUAL GROWTH!

Our Book Fair is part of our Literacy Program.  We have two per year; April & August.  The one in April is designed for our infant and preschool children.

During this month, the Book Fair is held for one week.  Open House is also one night during that week.  This encourages parent participation with the Book Fair.  We encourage a parent representative from each classroom to volunteer and assist with the book sales.

The Book Fair we host in August is designed for our school-age children.  The literacy program helps to prepare our children for the classroom in September.

Each teacher has an opportunity to take her / his class to visit the Book Fair, located outside near the school's office.  The teacher reads several books to the children, then, the children can tell their parents which book is their favorite.  Children book choices help save time for the parents who purchase for their family or a book from the "Wish List".

The Book Fair gives parents, grandparents and children an opportunity to get to know their teacher socially.  This social time brings fun and relaxation for everyone.  It forms a bonding bridge with the parent / child / teacher relationship.

For parent's convenience and social time, food and drinks are sold.  There is a surprise visit from a storybook character!

All proceeds go toward the school's library, which is located in Room E2.

Our annual Open House is usually held during the month of April.  Open House is an evening event for our children to share part of the world with their families and the community.  Their world consists of early childhood educational experiences in which they actively participate daily.

Each child has worked on many projects.  Your child along with the teacher or caregiver has chosen a few projects to share.  Sometimes these projects do not necessarily show what they have mastered and it could also be a project below their skill level.  However, projects are shown because they express the individual child.

Open House is especially for our children.

In early childhood programs, the children do their work to please themselves.  Our job as teachers and caregivers is to guide them; not to criticize or judge them.

We encourage our parents + community to take this opportunity to marvel at the amazing amount of knowledge and power of concentration our children have so skillfully mastered.

GRADUATION CELEBRATION - 30 YEARS

The Pre-K Class known as the Penguin Class celebrates graduation from preschool to elementary school on the second Thursday in June at 4:00 p.m. on the lawn of the school's campus.  This is a time when the students and parents rejoice as they share with each other.

A diploma is given with the official school's seal on it.
